Social Sustainability and Work-Life Balance

Do you find it difficult to juggle all the balls of work, everyday life, and family? You are not alone. The digital development makes employees reachable around the clock, and more and more people are working overtime or using their smartphones to always be available for work. This is despite the fact that research is unanimous: a workday that never ends can harm health, relationships, and our overall happiness.

At Blick, we have a strong sustainability mindset that encompasses not only the environment but also social sustainability. At many event agencies, overtime is a given, but at Blick, we do what we can to share the workload so that everyone can leave the office at a reasonable time. We distinguish ourselves from other event companies by offering overtime compensation for events held in the evenings and on weekends, as well as compensation in the form of an extra week of vacation for networking activities and mingling.

We prioritize a sustainable work environment with ergonomic chairs, height-adjustable desks, and communal spaces to change up the desk environment. We offer a generous wellness allowance and frequently have internal challenges that encourage physical activity. It's also important for us to have opportunities to talk about things other than work – once a month, we have breakfast together, and the communal coffee break at 3 PM is almost sacred!

Long-term imbalance between work and leisure can lead to poor health and sick leave, which can become a costly affair for the company. Strategic work with health and the work environment, on the other hand, enables good performance from employees who feel well. These employees then also have the strength and energy for what they want to do in their free time – a good work-life balance.
