8 New Conference Venues to Keep an Eye On
There’s a lot happening both at Blick and among the event and conference venues on the market. If you’re pressed for time, it might seem impossible to keep up with everything. Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! Below, we’ve compiled a list of the newest additions.
1. Ellery Beach House, Lidingö
Located at the far end of Elfviks Udde on Lidingö, Stockholm’s newest resort is opening, filled with restaurants, meeting spaces, pools, padel courts, music, and people—Ellery Beach House. The rural landscape makes the city feel far away, even though Ellery is only 20 minutes from the city center. Come to Ellery to conference and brainstorm brilliant ideas; in the Lindbergh Ballroom, you can host up to 250 people. Ellery Beach House opens in late August 2020.
2. Elite Hotel Södertälje
Elite Hotels of Sweden is transforming AstraZeneca’s former headquarters into a high-class destination hotel. The hotel is beautifully located in the Northern city center next to the Södertälje canal. It will offer several restaurants, a large conference facility for both small and large meetings, and a delightful spa. Elite Hotel Södertälje is expected to open in the fall of 2020.
3. Clarion Hotel & Congress Sea U
In Helsingborg’s prime location, on the quay in the city center, Clarion Hotel & Congress Sea U is opening. This will be a large and luxurious conference hotel with a congress hall that can accommodate up to 1,250 people. At the hotel, you can enjoy a drink in the sky bar, dine at the restaurant by Marcus Samuelsson, or take a dip in the rooftop pool. The hotel will open in February 2021.
4. Scandinavian XPO, Arlanda
In the area around Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden’s new fair, event, and meeting place, Scandinavian XPO, is being created. The facilities are designed to host up to 8,500 guests for all types of events, fairs, meetings, gala dinners, concerts, and sports events. Scandinavian XPO is Sweden’s new meeting destination, covering over 40,000 square meters with three exhibition halls, cozy lounge areas, hotels, restaurants, bars, cafes, event spaces, conference rooms, a fitness center, golf, a medical clinic, and various activities that engage and inspire. Scandinavian XPO opens in November 2020.
5. Elite Hotel Skellefteå
In the heart of Skellefteå, one of the world’s tallest wooden buildings is opening—Elite Hotel Skellefteå. This 20-story wooden structure, along with an adjoining building, will feature 205 modern hotel rooms, a large congress hall for up to 1,200 people, several conference and meeting rooms, a restaurant, a sky bar with a rooftop terrace, and a fully-equipped spa with a spectacular panoramic view. Patience is key, as the hotel is planned to open in the spring of 2021.
6. Hotel Giò, Stockholm
The new Best Western hotel Giò is located a stone’s throw from the scenic Hagaparken in Solna, Stockholm. This signature hotel is inspired by the 1950s Pirelli Tower in Milan and is named after its architect and designer: Giò Ponti. Giò offers opportunities for hosting events, mingles, breakfast meetings, or intimate live performances. That’s why Giò is called “The Social Hub Hotel.” The largest space, The Living Room, can accommodate up to 100 people. Hotel Giò opens in March 2020.
7. Comfort Hotel Arlanda
In February this year, Comfort Hotel Arlanda was inaugurated—a brand-new hotel at Arlanda Airport, just a few minutes’ walk from Sky City. The hotel features 503 rooms and 4 functional meeting rooms that can accommodate between 14 and 24 people.
8. Scandic Örebro Central
In a central location in Örebro, Scandic Örebro Central is opening. This hotel will be an important addition to the two already well-established Scandic hotels in Örebro, adding another 160 hotel rooms. The hotel will offer flexible conference facilities, a fitness area, and a restaurant and bar. The hotel is set to open in 2021.
